Superintendent Eric Witherspoon welcomes you to ETHS!
Mission Statement: Embracing its diversity, ETHS dedicates itself to educating all students to their fullest potential.
Evanston Township High School is one of the nation’s premier high schools, a school ranking in the top 2% of the nation and offering the finest educational experiences. We are committed to equity and excellence at ETHS and to providing the best education for every student. This commitment requires not only respect for the differences in students and staff from widely diverse social, economic, cultural, linguistic, intellectual, racial, educational, and religious backgrounds but also a sustained effort to use that diversity to fulfill its commitment.
Strong academic achievement for all students is paramount. Our highly-skilled teachers, administrators and staff work diligently to provide students with a wide range of course offerings that prepare them for life after high school. Our students are actively involved in developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for full participation in a democratic society and in the global community. We offer more than 250 courses to help students build pathways to their futures. Our educational program is robust with options from a unique series of "career prep" courses in our Career and Technical Education department to our premier "college prep" Advanced Placement (AP) program. There is something for each student to connect with at ETHS.
ETHS is the home of the Wildkits. We recognize that parents/guardians, business owners, community leaders and residents are crucial allies and partners in helping our students get the best educational experience. Since adolescence is a period of change and questioning, our school community must help guide and nurture students as they strive to become responsible citizens. We encourage our students to explore all the possibilities and to accept new challenges and seek new learning. And we encourage you to join us on that journey, too.
If you have a current ETHS student or a future Wildkit, or if you are a stakeholder in the Evanston/Skokie community, familiarize yourself with our website and our Course Selection Guide. See what is available to 21st century students in our community. Visit our home page often or connect with us on Facebook or Twitter to read the latest news and to see how much learning is taking place at ETHS.
It’s a GREAT day to be a Wildkit!
