Supporting Extracurricular Activities at ETHS
The purpose of ETHS Boosters is to encourage and promote all extracurricular activities at ETHS. We are one of the few Booster clubs in the Central Suburban League that supports music, fine arts and after-school clubs, in addition to sports. We raise money through membership fees, direct donations, concession and spirit wear sales, and our annual fund-raising benefit. ETHS Boosters sponsors Senior Parent Day, the Senior Sports Dinner, Scholarships, the Crystal E Award, and also funds specific music, fine art, and athletic program needs upon request.
Letter from the Presidents
Parents, welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. Please join us in supporting your student’s extracurricular activities and continuing the strong tradition of the ETHS Boosters!
Our membership is open to all ETHS staff, teachers, parents, students, and alumni. Your membership fee helps fund the many extracurricular activities at ETHS, and you can also make a donation to the sport or activity of your choice. A Booster Club Membership card is your pass to all home football and basketball games, as well as some band, orchestra, and choral concerts.
During the last school year Boosters raised and gave over $170,000 to extracurricular activities, and our members gave another $37,000 as directed donations! In the current economy, your membership and direct donations are more vital than ever before. Together, we help provide money for much-needed new equipment as well as capital improvements to ETHS facilities.
We encourage you to get involved and take advantage of all that ETHS has to offer. Be a role model for your child: show your school spirit by attending ETHS sporting events, concerts, and theatre productions. Show your support by joining the Boosters today! We hope to see you on January 21, 2012, when Second City comes to ETHS for the Booster Annual Benefit.

Events Sponsored by Boosters
We provide a decorated sheet cake for the entire team as part of the recognition ceremony for seniors, which takes place at the last home game for all sports teams.
We underwrite part of the cost of this annual sports banquet and awards ceremony, which takes place in June. Booster volunteers help with set-up, check-in and clean-up for the event, which features a sit-down dinner for the athletes, their parents and coaches.
We purchase spirit-building favors, like clappers and hats and distribute them at Homecoming and other fall and winter games.
We provide four $1,000 scholarships each year for ETHS seniors—2 boys and 2 girls--selected by ETHS staff. Two scholarships are based on academic achievement, two are based on financial need.
This Booster award is presented to the coach or extracurricular activity sponsor, as nominated by students, parents or staff, who exhibits extraordinary support for the students of ETHS.
The Crystal ‘E’ has been given to outstanding coaches and club sponsors since 1999. The award resides in the Main office at ETHS, and is engraved with the names of each year’s recipient: 1999 Nat Bilsky; 2000 Malykke Bacon; 2001 Char Shaw; 2002 David Fodor, PhD; 2003 Paul Pryma; 2004 Mychael Wylie; 2005 (no award); 2006 Fenton Gunther; 2007 Mary Therese Reed and Rudy Salinas; 2008 Richard Dempsey; 2009 Chester Jones; 2010 Bruce Romain; 2011 Casey Scherrer.

Join the Boosters
We offer Individual Student ($20) or Staff ($10) and Family ($40) memberships. The Family membership includes up to 6 membership cards. Additional Family membership cards can be purchased for $5 each. Please note that half of your Family membership is tax-deductible.
Make a Donation
Support your student’s musical or theatrical interest, sport, or after-school club through a directed donation. Your donation goes directly into an account for each activity that you specify.
We accept credit cards for on-line donations, and check or money orders for mail-in donations.
