Science

The many science course offerings and sequences are planned to meet the needs of each student, whether he or she considers science as a future career, an interesting avocation, or a necessity in our technological society. All full-year science offerings are lab courses. Most, but not all, of the courses are accepted by colleges either to meet science entrance requirements or as high school electives.

Seniors are given preference in courses with limited enrollment. Educational needs are also taken into account, and applications are accepted in the order in which they are received. An applicant's qualifications are determined in interviews with teachers.

Good conduct is paramount in science courses. In courses where field trips are an integral part of the science program, qualifications for entry, along with academic prerequisites, must include a student's agreement to practice accepted standards of good citizenship. To protect the safety and welfare of all, students must practice accepted standards of good conduct in the labs and on field trips; otherwise they may be dropped from the course.
