Fill out Club form in Community Service Office (A233e)
Description
The Community Service Club gives students the opportunity to do service (volunteer) activities in a group with other students. All activities are organized by students with the help of Ms. Collins. Listed below are all the Committees of the Community Service Club and a general description of what they do. The Club’s purpose is to engage ETHS students in a meaningful way, through service activities, to enhance our school and community. Leadership development is a benefit for many students who take on more responsibilities with the Club. We have over twenty student leadership positions including committee chairs and board members.
Cause for a Cure (disease awareness events, 1000 Paper Cranes, St. Baldrick’s Day)
The Closet (collecting clothing for students in need, resale shop, Closet upkeep)
Dance Marathon (Students raise money and commit to dance for six hours for a cause picked by the Dance Marathon Committee)
Empty Bowl (anti-hunger project/special event--making ceramics, serving food, acquiring donations, awareness posters etc.)
Environment (works with Green Team to organize service activities that benefit the environment)
Fundraising/Philanthropy (various fund raising activities including bake sales) / (giving small grants to local organizations)
Habitat for Humanity (helping build houses for needy families, minimum age is 16). This committee is expanding to include other housing rehab activities.
International Development (Heifer Project, UNICEF, awareness events, Pennies for Peace)
Publicity (news articles, photography, website, Facebook, display cases)
Collection Drive (help collect shoes, toiletries, toys, etc. for various organizations serving those in need)
Soup Kitchens (help at soup kitchen, food pantries, canned food drives)
Welcome Team (assist transfer/exchange students with adjustment to ETHS through organized social events)
