Description
Mock trial provides an opportunity for students to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before the Illinois Courts. Students participate in the Illinois State Bar Associations High School Mock Trial Tournament, as well as, various area tournaments held by participating schools. Each year students prepare both sides of a hypothetical case. Students acting as attorneys and witnesses learn how to analyze witness statements and the applicable law in order to present both the plaintiff and defense sides of the case in a court of law. Modified rules of evidence are taught.
