Time Commitment
Once a month SHPE meeting; Fundraising; ETHS Activity Fairs; Regional National Science Bowl Competition in Chicago land area (February). Possible, National Science Bowl Competition in Washington DC (April); End of the year ETHS Activity Awards Ceremony and SHPE Banquet at Northwestern University.
Meets
Monthly. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the College Career Center classroom (E-112) afterschool 3:35- 4:30pm. Additional practices may be added prior to competitions. Some meetings may be held at Northwestern University with the SHPE Chapter prior to competitions.
Procedure for Joining
Attend any SHPE meeting for more information. Paperwork for the national SHPE organization must be filled out and returned to SHPE Sponsor. Free to join and participate.
Description
All hispanic and non-hispanic students interested in one day pursuing a college degree in STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics) are welcome to join. Students will compete regionally and/or nationally in trivia-style competitions regarding their knowledge of STEM related topics.
