Capital Improvements
ETHS has embarked on an ambitious Capital Improvements Program (CIP). It is a five-year plan to improve the buildings and grounds of the 60 acre ETHS campus. The guiding policies that are motivating this program are:
- Preservation and improvement of buildings and grounds
- Top-flight facilities for students to improve student achievement
- Community Outreach
- Sustainability, Energy Conservation and Water Conservation
According to Bill Stafford, Chief Financial Officer at ETHS, "Because of state property tax restrictions the District is not able to spend as much as is needed on its capital infrastructure. This has necessitated the need to strategically raise funds privately to supplement tax dollars."
"The whole purpose of the CIP program is to improve student achievement. We believe that ETHS can provide the ideal combination of foundation dollars, a strong institutional financial position, and strong leadership to make significant student achievement gains."
This year’s CIP program includes the ETHS Transition House, West Entrance Beautification Project and the Renovation of the Bike Rack Area. By providing these new and improved facilities ETHS is providing its students a better chance to compete academically and athletically on a world class basis.
