The ETHS Chess Team competed at the North Suburban Chess League (NSCL) competition on February 3, 2012, winning second place after a first round upset.

ETHS defeated the North Champion (competition host Glenbrook South High School) 36-32 in the first round. The team advanced to play Niles North for the league championship and scored 57.5-10.5 to bring home the second place plaque.

 

The ETHS Chess Team expects to be in contention for upcoming championship tournaments, according to coach Ken Lewandowski.
