The Safety department maintains a state-of-the-art security camera monitor system that covers both the internal and external area of the campus.

Student Parking

Parking on School Property is a Privilege granted by the school board. Students parking on school property must obey all parking and traffic regulations or parking privileges will be revoked.

The policy gives first priority to seniors on a first come basis. After senior parking permits have been issued, the remaining parking permits will be issued on a first come, first serve basis to other class members. Date and time will be placed on your application when received.

Criteria for being referred to the Cook County Truancy Office

If a student is absent for 18 or more days in six or more classes they maybe referred to the Cook County Truancy Office. This referral may be prevented, if a parent or guardian and student attends a conference with the student’s counselor and other Pupil Personnel Services staff to discuss the student’s attendance problem.

105 ILCS 5/26 Illinois Compulsory School Attendance Law 

Parents/Guardians are responsible for their student’s attendance at school the entire time it is in session and for notifying the school when the student will be absent for a valid cause. Valid cause for absence includes illness, observance of a religious holiday, death in the immediate family, family emergency, situations beyond the student’s control as determined by the Principal or such other circumstances that cause reasonable concern to the parent/guardian for the student’s safety or health.
A Chronic Truant is a student who is subject to compulsory school attendance and who is absent without valid cause from such attendance for 10 percent or more of the previous 180 regular attendance days.

105 ILCS 5/26-2 Illinois Compulsory School Attendance Law

A school or school district may deny enrollment to a student 17 years of age or older for one semester for failure to meet minimum attendance standards if all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The student was absent without valid cause for 20% or more of the attendance days in the semester immediately prior to the current semester.
  2. The student and the student’s parent/guardian are given written notice warning that the student is subject to denial from enrollment for one semester unless the student is absent without valid cause less than 20% of the attendance days in the current semester.
  3. The student’s parent/guardian is provided with the right to appeal the notice, as determined by the State Board of Education in accordance with due process.
  4. The student is provided with attendance remediation services, including without limitation assessment, counseling, and support services.
  5. The student is absent without valid cause for 20% or more (18 days) of the attendance days in the current semester.
