Four students from Evanston Township High School are among the candidates for the 2016 Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students. ETHS seniors Matteo Di Bernardo, Murielle Dunand, Nora Linzer, and Seth Paternostro have been selected by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and the U.S. Department of Education to be considered as semifinalists in the prestigious program.
U.S. Presidential Scholars Program seeks to recognize and honor the nation's most distinguished graduating seniors. Application is by invitation only and the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars reviews the applications of all semifinalists in April. According to the guidelines, scholars are chosen on the basis of their accomplishments in many areas – academic and artistic success, leadership, and involvement in school and the community – and represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in America’s youth.
