ETHS Health Center Summer Hours and Updated Recommendations
The ETHS Health Center staff recognizes the financial impact that COVID-19 has had on our community and is committed to ensuring students have access to the care they need during this time of crisis. In general, the Health Center will be the least expensive primary health care option for all students. Appointments are available both for students seeking a new option for health care services and for those who wish to continue care they have been receiving at the Health Center.
During summer remote learning, the ETHS Health Center (H101) is open Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 1:00pm to safely help meet students’ health care needs.
The ETHS Health Center is a NorthShore University HealthSystem medical office, in partnership with ETHS and the City of Evanston, and follows strict infectious disease prevention guidelines as stated by the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and the IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) to protect you and keep you safe at every step of your visit.
Located on the first floor of ETHS, the Health Center is open year round for physicals, other medical concerns, and reproductive health care. Health Center staff can serve as students’ sole primary doctor or as an extension of their established primary care doctor, regardless of their insurance status. In addition to medical providers, an on-site social worker is available for mental health support. Home of WellKits, the Health Center has developed a healthy lifestyles program focusing on diet quality, better sleep, and stress management.
For COVID-19 related symptoms or exposures, Health Center staff work with NorthShore University Health System to help students get an evaluation at one of their designated testing sites.
Cost of care at the ETHS Health Center is low. Depending on the student’s insurance status, costs for physicals range from $0-$33. For those who are uninsured or have certain types of Medicaid insurance, vaccines range from $0-7 per vaccine. Health Center staff can assist those with private insurance in determining where to get their vaccines. Visits for other concerns (sick visits) are FREE for all students. No student will be turned away because of their insurance status or ability to pay.
