Important Health Information and Schedule Reminders

Dear Students and Families,

We hope students and families have had a strong start to the school year! We appreciate your patience and support during the first week of the block schedule. Acknowledging that many students and staff had reduced wired and wireless connection during the week, ETHS is working with external vendors to resolve issues. Please note the following important information and reminders.

Schedule on Monday, August 23. Students will follow the Wildkit Monday schedule on August 23. AM Support begins at 8:00am, followed by Blocks 1 through 8. This means that students will have all of their classes on Mondays, with 33-minute blocks. Students are dismissed at 2:07pm on Mondays.

As a reminder, students should go to the cafeteria listed on their schedule in HAC. ETHS staff will continue to be available to assist students throughout the school day.

Bell schedule support. Students can utilize the ETHSBell chrome web extension that is preinstalled on their district-issued chromebooks. The extension and accompanying website have new features including: viewing schedules in the past and future, a new timeline page, a customizable option to add class names, notifications, and more.

Vaccine Clinic on August 28 & September 18. Students and families who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to register for the D65/City of Evanston vaccination clinic. The event will be held at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Ave, Evanston) on Saturday, August 28 (first dose) and Saturday, September 18 (second dose)

This event is open to all Evanston residents, ages 12 and older, as well as Skokie residents who attend District 65/District 202. The event is also open to school staff who have not yet been vaccinated. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Registration is required. If you need assistance in Spanish, please contact the City of Evanston at x311. (847-448-4311)

For additional information, please see the announcement on the District 65 website.

NEW! Contact Tracing Steps. Contact Tracing Steps are provided in a simplified chart with the Confirmed COVID Case Procedures web page on the ETHS website. Please make sure you stay home and get tested if you have symptoms, whether or not you are vaccinated. The guidelines are in accordance with CDC and IDPH, and ETHS is in collaboration with the Evanston Health Department.

Proof of Vaccination. We encourage you to complete the Proof of Covid Vaccination Form for Students at any time once you are fully vaccinated. Please allow five school days for processing. You may check your myETHS account to confirm that ETHS has received your proof of vaccination. Teachers and select staff members will be able to view vaccination status to support our contact tracing efforts.

Stay Safe and Mask Up. Wildkits are doing a great job keeping their masks on while indoors at ETHS! Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth works to slow the spread of COVID. Please continue to mask up, wash your hands, and distance yourself as much as possible in cafeterias, classrooms, and other spaces where you are close to others.

Stay Home if You Are Sick. Do not come to school any time you are ill, or have new or different symptoms, including but not limited to: fever, sore throat, loss of sense of smell, muscle or body aches, new cough, vomiting or diarrhea.

Acknowledge, Care, Tell. ETHS is committed to wellbeing and has adopted ACT® which means “Acknowledge, Care, Tell.” Please continue to pay attention to your physical and social emotional health. Students, staff, and parents/guardians play a role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every member of our school community to help maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

Thank you for helping keep yourself and others healthy and safe!

Sincerely,

Eric Witherspoon, Ph.D.
