Homecoming 2024
August 30, 2024
Evanston Township High School will host our 2024 Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 21 from 7:00pm – 10:00pm in the Fieldhouse. The evening will include a live DJ and emcee, dancing, and activities. The theme students chose this year is: A Night at the Disco. We encourage students to dress up in their best 70s disco attire to make the night even more festive!
The Homecoming Dance is open to all ETHS students (Grades 9-12) and their pre-approved guests from area high schools. Students must have 10 or fewer tardies and serve any tardy detentions by September 18 to attend the dance.
Please talk with your student about their plans to attend this year’s dance.

What to Expect
At ETHS, we value inclusivity and creating welcoming spaces for all students. As part of this commitment, we’ve expanded our activities at this year’s dance to ensure that every Wildkit can have a fun night at Homecoming. Below is a list of the exciting activities we’ve planned for the evening:
Dancing and Activity Stations in the Fieldhouse
Enjoy the music and show off your best moves on the dance floor! We’ll have a live DJ, emcee, and activity stations, including a 360° photo booth and caricature artist.
Board Games and Arts Activities
Looking for a different vibe? We’ll have additional spaces where you can engage in friendly competition with board games or express your creativity through arts and crafts. Dance Dance Revolution will also be available for those who love a music video game challenge!
Tranquility Space
Need a break from the festivities? Recharge and relax in our designated tranquility space, complete with yoga mats and a calming ambiance. Use this space to unwind, recharge, and engage in some mindful relaxation.
Food and Beverages
Enjoy a tasty treat! Snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the evening, catering to different dietary needs.
Guest Information
ETHS students may bring pre-approved guests from other area high schools. Guest Request Forms are available on our website and must be submitted by Friday, September 13 at 3:35pm. Students will be notified via email whether their guest is approved to attend. Please remember, students are responsible for their guests’ behavior.
Next Steps
We recommend that families take the time to:
-
Talk with your student about the Homecoming Dance, activities, and making safe decisions.
-
Make a plan to purchase tickets.
-
Submit a Guest Request Form by September 13 if your student plans to bring a guest.
-
Check if your student has any tardy detentions and ensure they are cleared by September 18 to be eligible to attend the dance. Review information about how to clear tardy detentions.
-
Review our School Dance Guidelines.
Event Guidelines
The Homecoming Dance is chaperoned by ETHS staff and our School Resource Officers. Please make note of the following guidelines:
-
Bring your ID. If you bought a ticket in advance, bring your ticket.

Follow ETHS rules and guidelines (The Pilot handbook).
-
Do not leave the dance before 8:30pm.
-
After 8:30pm, no one will be admitted to the dance.

A parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up the student immediately.
-
Students will face appropriate disciplinary consequence(s), according to school policies.

Drop-off and Pick-up
Students will enter and exit through Entrance 3, located on Wildkit Drive at the back (west side) of the school. We ask that all drop-off and pick-up occur on Wildkit Drive. Given the high volume of vehicles, we ask for your patience. Please make a plan with your student to ensure a smooth and safe pick-up. Safety staff will be on hand to help direct traffic.
