New Text Messaging Option for ETHS Families

ETHS uses TalkingPoints as a text messaging tool to communicate with our students and families. TalkingPoints is a platform that allows you to easily communicate with your student’s teachers and other school staff in your preferred language. Many of our staff members will be using it to stay in touch with our families.
TalkingPoints for Guardians
No action is needed to sign up—all parents/guardians will automatically receive messages. TalkingPoints is free to use, and you’ll be able to receive and send messages on your mobile device. With TalkingPoints, you can:

TalkingPoints for Students
Only authorized staff members, such as teachers, coaches, and club sponsors, may use TalkingPoints to send messages directly to students. This includes important updates, such as messages about assignments, practice schedules, or upcoming events. Students must opt-in to receive these messages. TalkingPoints is our district’s only approved platform for students to text with staff.

How It Works:

For Parents/Guardians:

Ensure that your contact information is up-to-date in Home Access Center (HAC).

You will automatically start receiving text messages from your child’s teachers or school staff through TalkingPoints. You may choose to download the app.

Reply directly to any text message from the school or teacher in your preferred language—TalkingPoints will translate it for them!

If you do not want to receive text messages from ETHS, you can opt out at any time. If you opt out, you will still receive emergency text messages from ETHS.

For Students:

Look for an email from TalkingPoints about how to opt-in to receive text messages. You only have to opt-in once.

Your teachers, coaches, or club sponsors can also assist on how to opt-in and download the TalkingPoints app.

Please note that TalkingPoints is an optional tool for use at ETHS, and email is our primary method of communication with students and families. Some teachers may choose not to use TalkingPoints, and they will communicate with you in other ways.
