Evanston Township High School welcomes author Tomi Adeyemi on January 25

Evanston Township High School will host author Tomi Adeyemi to discuss her new book Children of Virtue and Vengeance on Saturday, January 25, beginning at 6:30pm, in the school auditorium, located at 1600 Dodge Ave. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Tomi Adeyemi, who was recently recognized in the 2020 edition of the Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list, is a New York Times bestselling author. Children of Virtue and Vengeance is the second book in Adeyemi’s Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. Her debut novel, Children of Blood and Bone, reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and is currently in development for a film adaptation.
Attendees can purchase a copy of Children of Blood and Bone and the sequel Children of Virtue and Vengeance at the event. A limited number of meet and greet/book signing tickets are also available for purchase upon registration.
Guests are welcome to use the auditorium entrance (Entrance #6), on Dodge Ave. Doors open at 6:00pm. Attendees should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event to find parking and seats. Accessible seating is available in the auditorium. Parking is available in the lot across from the main entrance, off of Dodge Avenue, or in the lots behind the high school. Parking is also available along Dodge Avenue according to posted City of Evanston signs.
The January 25 event is sponsored by the ETHS Books ‘R’ Us Club, in partnership with Seminary Co-op Bookstores and The Links North Shore (IL) Chapter. Students in the book club will get a chance to attend a special meet and greet with Adeyemi before the event.
