First Day Schedule
Students report by grade level on opening day and should use the bell schedules listed below. Students receive their ID cards on the first day of school during their first period class.
Grade 9 (Freshmen Only): 8:00 to 11:15am - Freshmen start at 8:00am in the auditorium on the first day of school. After an assembly, they will follow their class schedule beginning at 8:30am. Students in grade 9 will receive their schedules at Freshman Orientation on August 13-14. Freshmen who misplace their schedule or did not receive their schedule can view it in Home Access Center (HAC) beginning Wednesday, August 14, at 9:00pm. Students who want a printed copy of their schedule can go to South Technology Center (S220) on the first day beginning at 7:30am. Freshmen will be dismissed at 11:15am to attend the annual Freshman Picnic near Tennis Courts A (Lake Street). The picnic is optional, but highly encouraged. Freshmen will be dismissed from the picnic to go home at 12:15pm.
Grades 10-12: 12:00 to 3:35pm - Students in grades 10-12 will be invited to enter the building at 11:40am on the first day of school, but not before, and will follow their class schedule beginning at 12:00pm. Students in grades 10-12 can view their schedule in Home Access Center (HAC) beginning Wednesday, August 14, at 9:00pm.
Schedules will not be mailed home. As a reminder, requests to change courses due to preferences and/or level changes will not be accepted as students return to ETHS for the 2019-2020 school year. Schedule questions can be addressed by contacting the student’s counselor by email. Students should double-check their class schedule on the first day of school, Wednesday morning, August 21, for any administrative schedule changes. Students who want a printed copy of their schedule can go to South Technology Center (S220) on the first day of school between 11:40am-12:00pm. A student who does not have a first-period class can go to South Study Café at 12:00pm. Lunch will not be served on the first day. Students in grades 10-12 will be dismissed to go home at 3:35pm.
Students should be prepared to arrive at least 20 minutes early on the first day of school. Expect traffic congestion and delays around the grade level start times. Plan to leave early on the first day of school to avoid being late, whether biking, walking, taking public transportation, driving or carpooling.
