“The Government Inspector" onstage at ETHS in February

Jan 12, 2018  3:30pmCT

Evanston Township High School presents the satirical Russian play “The Government Inspector” on February 8, 9, and 10. Curtain is at 7:30pm each evening in the ETHS Upstairs Theatre.

The show follows the locals in a small Russian hamlet as they learn that an undercover government inspector is coming for a surprise visit. An unfortunate case of mistaken identity sends the whole village spiraling into a world of panic and panic and greed. Witty and satirical, this timely and spirited adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's classic play exposes the corruption of a provincial town with biting hilarity.

General admission tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available online at www.ethstheatre.com, where you can print your own ticket, and at the ETHS box office before each performance.

Located at 1600 Dodge Ave., the ETHS Upstairs Theatre is accessible by elevator. Parking is recommended in the school’s rear lot; enter off of Church or Lake Streets. For more information, call the ETHS Fine Arts Office at 847-424-7130.
