Evanston Township High School hosts an Engineering Information Night on Thursday, November 17, 6:30-8:00pm in the auditorium. Students in grades 8-11 and their families are encouraged to attend to learn about Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering courses offered at ETHS and hear about college credit options and scholarship opportunities available for students completing PLTW engineering courses.
The event also offers the opportunity to meet current students and see their projects, meet ETHS engineering faculty at ETHS, and learn about the range of engineering careers.
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing the quality and quantity of science and technology graduates in the United States. The PLTW program at ETHS integrates national academic and technical learning standards and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM) principles into a comprehensive curriculum. ETHS is a certified PLTW high school, offering pre-engineering courses that provide students with in-depth, hands-on experience and reality-based knowledge of engineering and engineering technology careers.
Engineering courses at ETHS include Introduction to Engineering Design, Introduction to Engineering Design (Women in Engineering), Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics and Arduinos, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Manufacturing Engineering and Robotics, Engineering Design and Development, AP Computer Science Principles, and Cybersecurity.
