Lake Street Tennis Courts
More than 100 donors, aspiring tennis players and community members, including former tennis stars and championship coaches from ETHS’s past glories, gathered at the south end of the Evanston Township High School campus On Oct 6, 2015 to celebrate the re-opening of the school’s Lake Street tennis courts.
$112,000 was raised and distributed to ETHS to help fund the resurfacing of seven courts and to build a shed and enclosure to be used by the Applied Sciences and Math departments for the new Geometry in Construction (GIC) class.
Students in GIC build a house each year which is then moved to a lot in Evanston and sold. Proceeds fund the materials for the next house. Private contributions from friends and alumni of the school make these initiatives possible.
