Evanston Township High School students participated in a competition sponsored by the Technology Student Association (TSA), with three ETHS teams finishing in the top ten in Illinois. TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) is a competition where teams of up to eight students work collaboratively with science, technology, engineering and mathematics problems.

Teams of eight students worked on different engineering topics and problems in the form of a multiple choice section, a team essay, and a design challenge. ETHS teams, sponsored by teachers Terry Gatchell and Mark Vondracek, used their science, math, writing, problem solving, and engineering skills to work through a wide variety of topics around this year's theme of “Engineering the Environment.”

Results include the following:

4th place: seniors Ilana Baker, Conrad Burghardt, Michael Faibishenko, Adrian Fullmer, Alfredo Gomez, Isabella Green, and Caitlin Sweeney

9th place: juniors Mattias Amezquita-Fox, Oliver Brady, Mallen Clifton, Posey Cohen, Emma Estberg, Simon Lequar, Leo Loubieres, and Ben Silverman

10th place: Jeff Abraham, Megan Chambers, Molly Conover, Emma Dzwierzynski, Nadia Goldberg, Alec Jacobson, Drew Kersnar, and Bundev Sawhney
