Evanston Township High School District 202 is pleased to announce that Dr. Quiana McNeal has been selected as its next principal, beginning with the 2025-26 school year. Dr. McNeal, a dedicated educator and experienced leader, brings a deep commitment to academic excellence, equity, and student success, along with a proven track record of driving school improvement.
Dr. McNeal currently serves as Director of Curriculum and Equitable Practices at Township High School District 214. Prior to that, she was Associate Principal for Instruction at Elk Grove High School and served for four years as Principal at Chicago Collegiate Charter School. Her career in education began as a Special Education teacher, and throughout her journey, Dr. McNeal has built a strong reputation for fostering inclusive learning environments, strengthening student support systems, and championing academic excellence.
“Dr. McNeal is an exceptional leader whose values and experience align deeply with the mission of ETHS,” said Superintendent Dr. Marcus Campbell. “Out of a highly competitive pool of candidates, she emerged as an outstanding choice—bringing a strong equity mission, instructional expertise, and a student-centered approach that will serve our school community well. As Principal, she will not only lead with vision and integrity—she will help strengthen a school culture where every student is seen, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential."
Her selection follows a rigorous search process that included community input and four rounds of interviews with students, staff, and school and district leaders. This inclusive approach ensured that a wide range of perspectives informed the decision, reflecting the values and priorities of the ETHS community.
“I am honored to serve as the next principal of ETHS and to become part of this outstanding school community,” said Dr. McNeal. “ETHS has a long-standing tradition of excellence, and I am eager to collaborate with our students, staff, and families to build upon that legacy. I look forward to working together to support the success of every student and to continue fostering a culture of learning, equity, and achievement. I am incredibly proud to be a Wildkit!”
Dr. McNeal holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Education and Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Juris Doctor (JD) from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Special Education from National Louis University.
The District 202 Board of Education voted unanimously to approve Dr. McNeal’s appointment to the position, effective July 1, 2025.
