Parent & Family Involvement Opportunities at ETHS
-
The following list highlights several opportunities for parent involvement at ETHS. In addition to these formal parent groups and committees, there are also a number of volunteer opportunities within the various ETHS departments (e.g.: the Jazz Festival planning committee through the Fine Arts Department), or through sports teams and student activities or clubs (e.g.: team parent for some sports teams and competitive clubs).
Boosters Club. ETHS Boosters raise funds to support all extracurricular activities at ETHS. It is the only Booster club in the Central Suburban League that supports fine arts and after-school clubs in addition to sports. The club also sponsors Spirit Projects, Senior Parent Day, College Scholarships, the Crystal E Award, and the Senior Sports Banquet. The Directed Donations program allows parents to contribute directly to any extracurricular activity. Contributions to the Booster are tax deductible.
All ETHS families and staff members are invited to join the Boosters. Members receive free admission to home football and basketball games and discounted admission to select fine arts events. Visit www.ethsboosters.org to join, donate, volunteer, or learn more about the Boosters!
Evanston Black Advocacy Network (E-BAN). E-BAN is a network of ETHS parents, staff, and community members who work to promote the academic achievement and well-being of black students at ETHS. E-BAN serves as a forum for sharing resources, expertise and experiences with families related to the education and personal development of black students. The network also seeks to build connections between ETHS and the black community in order to better serve families as they navigate students through four years of high school. For more information, contact E-BAN at eban@eths202.org.
Family Action Network: The Family Action Network (FAN) is a nonprofit organization that connects parents, educators and professionals through collaborative programming. All programs are free and open to the public. To learn about the FAN speaker series or to sign up for the FAN newsletter, visit www.familyactionnetwork.net.
