Contact Tracing
-
Expectations for contact tracing steps are for after having a known exposure to a confirmed COVID case. The expectations for students include communication with the ETHS Nurses’ Office.
Do not come to school any time you are ill or have new or different symptoms, including but not limited to: fever, sore throat, loss of sense of smell, muscle or body aches, new cough, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Guidelines are in accordance with CDC and IDPH, and ETHS is in collaboration with the Evanston Health Department (EHD). The CDC issued updated school-specific guidance on January 6, 2022 (Overview of COVID-19 Isolation for K12 Schools and Overview of COVID-19 Quarantine for K-12 Schools). IDPH issued updated guidance on January 11, 2022.
EHD makes all final determinations on quarantines. If you have been identified as a close contact, the ETHS Contact Tracer and/or Evanston Health Department will communicate directly with you regarding next steps.
- ETHS COVID Notification emails will not be sent to entire classrooms where a person has tested positive, but ETHS will continue to contact trace and streamline communication with students and parents/guardians regarding close contacts.
