COVID Response Information

  • Living with COVID continues to be an area of concern in the community. More updates will be provided as guiding practices evolve.

    • Vaccinations: Students and staff were strongly encouraged to get their COVID boosters before the start of the school year.  COVID vaccinations and boosters continue to be effective in reducing the risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death. Many vaccines see reduced protection over time.
      • If you were vaccinated for COVID-19, but have not received your booster(s), you may be required to be in COVID exclusion for at least 5 days if you are a close contact.
      • We are asking staff to submit an updated vaccination card for COVID vaccinations and boosters through ETHS Proof of COVID Vaccination & Booster(s) for Staff.

Many vaccine providers, such as local health departments, clinics, and pharmacies, are able to provide additional doses or booster doses. You can find a vaccine provider at or call 1-800-232-0244 (TTY 888-720-7489).

    • COVID Exclusion: If someone at school tests positive for COVID-19, they will be asked to stay home for at least 5 full days (day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day of the positive test). Anyone who tests positive will be contacted by our contact tracer.

      • If you were exposed to COVID and have not had the COVID vaccination(s) AND a booster, you may be required to be in exclusion for at least 5 days.
    • COVID Testing: Due to lack of demand, Shield COVID testing will no longer be available at ETHS. The last day of SHIELD COVID testing at ETHS was September 8, 2022.
    • Masking: Due to the current COVID risk factors, wearing a mask continues to be optional while indoors at ETHS during the school day. Masks will continue to be available at each entrance of the building.

      • Masks continue to be federally required in healthcare settings and for healthcare personnel, including the school nurses' office, trainers' office, and school-based health center.
      • Anyone who chooses to wear a mask will be supported in their decision to do so at any COVID-19 Community Level, including low.
