• Due to new legislation passed by the Illinois State Legislature (HB5394), schools districts shall develop a cardiac emergency response plan that addresses the appropriate use of school personnel to respond to incidents involving an individual experiencing sudden cardiac arrest or a similar life-threatening emergency while at a school or at a school-sponsored activity or event.

The Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) is a crucial document that outlines the steps to take in the event of a cardiac emergency (such as a heart attack or sudden cardiac arrest) within a school setting. At Evanston Township High School, we are deeply committed to the wellbeing and safety of our students, and the Cardiac Response Plan is one of the ways we ensure that our campus is prepared for any medical emergency.
