What is a Gap Year?
Taking a Gap Year (also known as year abroad, year out, year off, deferred year, bridging year, time off and time out) refers to taking a year out of studying to do something else. Many people take a gap year before starting college, but it can be taken at any time.
If you are an ETHS student and are interested in taking a gap year, please be sure to consult with your counselor prior to making arrangements. Many colleges prefer that senior high school students still apply to their schools prior to taking a gap year. The student can then defer their admission once accepted.
