Incoming Freshman Information Night

  • Evanston Township High School invites prospective eighth grade students and their families to attend Incoming Freshman Information Night (IFIN). Information Night is designed for "Future Wildkits" to gather information and to learn more about the high school and the transition process.

    Prospective students and their families will receive a brief overview of ETHS and the freshman transition calendar of important events, and have the opportunity to attend a couple of the many breakout sessions and activities, please see agenda below.

    This event is open to all prospective District 65, private/parochial, or home school 8th grade students and their families. No pre-registration is required. Incoming Freshman Information Night guests should plan to arrive between 6:30-6:50pm to find parking. The Registrar's Office will be available at this time for online registration and required document submission.

    Meet & greet with the ETHS principal, student and parent ambassadors, administrators, and staff to ask questions or learn more about clubs, activities, and the high school experience.

    Registration documents (residency & original birth certificate) may be dropped off in S127 during the evening. For assistance with completing online registration, call 847-424-7008 to schedule an appointment in the Welcome Center.

    Freshman curriculum – Auditorium, A100

    The purpose of this session is to inform parents about the freshman curriculum and provide an overview of what a student schedule may look like.  

    Self-guided tours of the high schoolMain Lobby 

    Brief, self-guided tours of the building are available during the evening. Families who are interested in a comprehensive tour may sign up online for a Campus Tour Day.

    Private, parochial and home school transitionLittle Theatre, A125

    The purpose of this session is to have a conversation to address the questions and concerns of families whose children who have been educated in a private, parochial, or home school setting.

    Family Resources (parents/guardians only) – Welcome Center, E112

    In this session, parents/guardians will meet the team of counselors, and the academic advisor, social worker, psychologist, and dean who will be involved in problem solving and supporting families. Learn more about resources available to families and speak with members of the team and current ETHS parents/guardians to ask questions about the high school experience.

    Student Connections (students only) – The Hub, W220

    Students have the opportunity to talk to current Wildkits to ask questions or learn more about clubs, activities, and the high school experience.
